Taking to the Sky

While I was in Talkeetna, AK I had the opportunity to board a little ten seater plane and fly up and around the tallest mountain in North America, Denali!  It was an awesome experience.  If anyone ever has the opportunity to go, it is Definitely worth it!
This is the view from the deck at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge.
I'm standing at about 2,000 ft looking up at a mountain of 20,320 ft.
We got lucky, it was clear as could be and not a cloud in the sky!

Which Plane will it be...?
The whole lot is full of different kinds of planes.
Big, Small, Red, Blue, Float, Wheel, Ski.

We are ready to Go!!  What a lovely bunch we are, everyone is Super Excited!
Despite popular belief, small planes are actually quite smooth to ride in.
The pilot talked with us the entire time, hence the head phones and mics.

Off we go!  Denali seems so far away.

Look how Pretty!!
No matter which way you look there is a breath taking view awaiting.

Pics from the Plane, this one is called Moose's Tooth!

Glacial Water really is BLUE!
There are puddles and lakes and streams everywhere up there.

We landed on a GLACIER!!!
Isn't the plane kind of cute?

Feet are back on solid ground... or at least frozen ground.
Believe it or not, but it really wasn't that cold up there.
Yes, there is tons of Snow and Ice but the Sun is nice and warm!
You have to be careful where you step or next thing you know you'll be up to your knees in Snow!

And the Moment we've all been waiting for... DENALI!
What a Beautiful sight it is.
